Design
Hydro Flask is well known for its sleek design and wide variety of colors while the YETI Rambler is known for its rugged appearance and durability that comes with the brand name.
One of the key differences comes in the form of the lids. The Hydro Flask uses a honeycomb insulation press-lid design that slides shut and opens wide enough for reusable straws.
While the YETI Rambler uses their MagSlide lid that slides into place for a quick and easy release, offers no additional insulation, and is not compatible with reusable straws. You can however, purchase an additional reusable straw lid directly from YETI.
Both lid designs assist in the prevention of splashing but neither offers a leak-proof design.
Both insulated tumblers make use of 18/8 stainless steel, double-wall insulation, are compatible with most cup holders, and offer a powder-coating for an easy non-slip grip.
Temperature Retention
For temperature retention and insulation, Hydro Flask makes use of its TempShield insulation technology and honeycomb insulation lid design. Hydro Flask’s TempShield technology includes the double wall vacuum insulation along the entire tumbler, while the Honeycomb Insulation helps reduce the heat transfer that occurs through the lid.
In addition to the insulation technology, Hydro Flask implements the use of a press-lid design that slides shut to help regulate temperatures and protect from splashes.
And finally, the Hydro Flask tumbler has the added benefit of fitting most cupholders.
Meanwhile, YETI is well known for its superior insulation technology that has been implemented in not just their drinkware, but outdoor products as well. Making YETI a popular brand among outdoor enthusiasts.
Similar to the Hyrdo Flask tumbler, the YETI Rambler makes use of a double-wall vacuum insulation along with their MagSlider Lid that assists in preventing splashes but not leaks.
